PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CLARIFIERS
Primary and Secondary Clarifiers are designed to remove solids and scum from waste water. Chemtech develops robust, Low wear scraper technologies for the removal of sediments in circular tanks, which are suitable for a wide range of installation conditions and process requirements.
The sludge is removed by blades or suction pipes, while scum is removed from the surface of the clarifiers. The scrapers move at a very low velocity, to avoid a renewed disturbance of the sediment from the bottom of the tank.
Mechanical Clarifiers in the activated sludge process serve a dual purpose. First to provide a clarified effluent and second to provide concentrated source of return sludge for maintaining process control, removing sediment, turbidity and floating material from wastewater.
